Le gestionnaire de mises à jour vous proposera alors de mettre à niveau votre système vers la nouvelle mouture d'Ubuntu.
Pour les adeptes de la ligne de commandes, une autre méthode de mise à niveau consiste à utiliser apt-get. Modifiez d'abord votre liste de dépôts pour prendre en compte ceux pour Ubuntu 6.10. Puis, exécutez la commande suivante :
~$ sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
